Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Roadblocked (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

Roadblocked is a platform for creating and running real-time group scavenger hunts, including tasks, GPS geofencing, photo and video submissions, live grading, and leaderboards.

Accounts and access

Administrators are responsible for keeping their credentials secure and for all activity under their account. Players join games through magic links; anyone holding a group’s link can act as that group, so links should be shared only with intended participants.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service in any unlawful way or for any unlawful purpose;
• upload or submit content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, or that violates the rights or privacy of others;
• harass, threaten, or impersonate other people;
• attempt to breach security, access data without authorization, or disrupt or overload the Service; or
• use the Service to collect personal data without a lawful basis.

Player safety

Scavenger hunts involve moving through real-world environments. Participants are solely responsible for their own safety: obey all traffic laws and signage, respect private property and local rules, stay aware of your surroundings, and never put yourself or others at risk to complete a task. Organizers are responsible for designing safe games and for supervising participants, including minors. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for injuries, damages, or losses arising from participation in a game.

Your content

You retain ownership of the photos, videos, and text you submit. You grant the operator of the game a limited license to store, process, and display that content as needed to run the game — for example, in the grading queue and to game administrators. You are responsible for having the rights and any consents necessary for the content you upload, including images that feature other people.

Intellectual property

The Roadblocked software, name, and branding remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing in these Terms transfers any such rights to you.

Availability and “as is” service

The Service is provided free of charge. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may modify or discontinue features at any time. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of the Service shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for any violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent version.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be subject to the courts of Helsinki, Finland, unless mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise. For questions about these Terms, contact elias.kurki@hotmail.com.
